Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Why you should QUIT Cisco immediately?

  1. Cisco can layoff you anytime irrespective of your performance
  2. Cisco will continue to layoff your colleagues
  3. Cisco managers use layoffs as a powerful tool for their advantage - exploiting employees to get whatever they want. Employees know who went against them got impacted in subsequent LR

Do want to stay with company?
No never - learn fast and get out

Cisco is not long term company for everyone

Any employee with your written communication skills should probably be laid off.

Any company can do any or all of the three.

The only way to avoid this is to be self-employed and/or own the company.

Do want to stay with company?

I keep reading sentences like this and wonder "are half the posters here actually Russian bots?"

For some people Cisco is the place to be at the moment and they're OK with it. There are many who dream of being elsewhere and the reality is what makes them layoff ready from Cisco is the lack of drive and initiative which would have gotten them into a better position at another company before now. After 23 years of layoffs none of this should be news to anyone.

I think half the people are waiting for a package.
If Cisco said they were going to give the very minimum that they legally could then you would see a huge increase in the number of resignations, and would also find it harder to attract staff.
