It's always a good laugh when field personnel whine about office people working from home. Hey my dude, you get half a year off. Be quiet.
Monitoring capability has been there since the time that smart badges have been around...which is 20+ years. All that has changed is the monthly reporting to your supervisor.
Yep, taking a page out of the conservative playback if you don't like the field job then you can leave. Pull yourself up and get a office job.

Join us in the field and find out what it's realy like. Overtime without compensation (that's minimum of 13 1/2 hours of work per day and travel on your own time), lots of noise when you're trying to sleep on location, being woke up because some dump engineer can't find the toilet paper, weather can be hot, cold, wet, windy, etc. No opportunity to work from the copmforts of home. And the poor office people don't care about us. You are welcome to join us but be careful what you wish for.
Can the people who support the company against average employees like yourself from having a better life and work life balance that doesn't hurt the company bottom line explain your thinking? Why support the wealthy that don't care about you either? It's been shown in reports that RTO doesn't help the company or shareholders and only crushes morale for people who finally have flexibility.
The doublespeak is the worst part. Everyone back in the office, but managers can consider individual situations and business needs, but then if management requests remote work approval for someone in an appropriate situation HR will reject it.
They're not forcing you in more, they're enforcing the 3 days they told us to go in. You should here from my friends in banking and the medical field, they've been monitored for years and it's just a normal thing for them. We're too spoiled.
I fa-t in our management's general direction due to this, all the layoffs and cuts. ππ
@1gxk Are you one of those people who screamed for government intervention when companies forced people to get vaccinated?
I agree with the OP. No need to be in the office. The poor downtrodden field workers don't care about us at all so I don't care about them. Why don't they join us in solidarity and get paid salary and work overtime for free?
I’m not a fan of the office, but come on 3 days isn’t going to ki-l you. I’m tired of being treated like a kindergartner because lazy people like op can’t show up on a reduced schedule. Just fire them and leave the rest of us alone.
You mean the company that pays you to work for them is setting conditions? GASP!
Maybe you should leave and start your own company.
You mean βforcingβ you to work the schedule you’re supposed to work??
