Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

“Analytics”

Does anyone know what level of analytics they are tracking employees at? E.g. key card scan in and out times, when your computer is turned on/off, number of hours in active status on Teams, physical location of laptop/network, # of days working from home due to being contagious, # of key strokes, time surfing etc.

Just wondering how much is about merit, performance reviews and relationships and how much is about ‘data’.

"Extra long lunches, extra long cigarette breaks everyone does it, late and not making up time."
I dont think the poster is talking about that.

If someone who does not have the option of working remotely, is paid by the hour and puts in a 7 hour day in the office or field yet submits a 9 hour day on the time sheet, it's being fraudulent. It's blatant time theft. It's pretty easy to prove too.

Misappropriation and stealing company time happens everywhere.
Extra long lunches, extra long cigarette breaks everyone does it, late and not making up time. No one is perfect however the company should crack down on both hourly and salary based employees.

Attendance was tracked almost immediately after the hybrid work week was launched. They know who were following the rules who were flaunting them and how often compared to others.
These analytics were part of many other relevant data fed into the AI. A flawless "list" was generated in nanoseconds.
The list was inspected and approved for execution by all stakeholders

Maybe if they have evidence of hourly paid employees stealing time they could have a list of people that they are going to fire. There are circumstances when a company can fire you with no severance and I think time theft is one of them. The labour laws differ from region to region on severance allowance.

If you are hourly paid and you have been doing this you could be in for a shock. Even if your boss knew and did not care, you could still be fu---d.

Everything is logged. Keystrokes, swiping card, smoke breaks. Its all included. They know if you stick to their rules and if you do not.

Once again, I will double down on my claim that keystrokes and everything is being logged.

They track those, VP gets a weekly/monthly report of who is coming into the office on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday.

Names were already put together since the end of last year at the directors/VPs level they are not measuring how you are doing now for the next 30 days to decide LOL.

They will be getting rid of low performers, people they don’t like, can’t get along with people.

"I was told by a reliable source in TIS that everything we do on the computers is monitored down to keystrokes."

Your reliable source in TIS is either wrong or lying to you.

Network activity (internet) is logged at the firewall. Not "recorded", mind you. Just logged. Url, date, time. If your manager wants to pull your statistics, they can make an HR request for it - but they have to have a reason. There is a process. They can't just access the information without cause.

There are no keyloggers.

Maybe they are putting in the work but are curious how “Big Brother” the company is.

Professionals don’t typically like being treated like machine bots.

You’re just worried about stats now? Why aren’t you putting in an honest day of work everyday?

I would probally show up to work more and scan my badge at every door and put about 100 work orders a day in over the next few weeks that will probally be the best thing to do. On another note companies don’t care how long you have worked for them or you’re contribution to their success they will get rid of you in a second and not think twice about it..

I used to work from home about 4 to 5 days in the week. Since the summer and layoff rumours started I have been going in to the office three days a week as per the company's rules.
I do know they also count time away on teams, absense, productivity level and how busy the group or department is.
Good luck to us all.
