Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Curious to see what we all are getting paid to keep this sinking ship afloat. I'll go first..

Years with the company: Over 20
Annual Salary: $130,000

Pretty sad, now that I think about it. The earning potential lost busting my azz here, could have, should have, whatever. I'm just so done.

""Hey L3, genuinely curious how that part works?

You're just given a bunch of shares (like a gift)?

Or are they "options", where you can exercise them at some point (presumably if the value goes up, which of course has been an issue for a couple decades now...)?""

They are options, they vest annually on Feb 15th and can be exercised at any time. You are right in the assesment.

UPS drivers get paid $175,000. To drive a van. You think $130k is a lot of money in today's environment for what we all do?

“ 11 years with the company, L2 - $200K + bonus“

"Most of these seem fairly accurate. This one seems like BS."

This is achievable for an L2 at Principal or AD level, in the middle of their pay band and in an N3 or N4 zone.

How un-motivating is this response. A new cert increases your market value. It's something you show in your year end reviews to get those extra dollars. Think!

Roflmao at getting a new cert every year. How will you use those skills when this company moves like a sloth? Then along comes a golf course deal that costs us billions. Then you must move like a cobra for three months. Then stop because we ran out of money.

No disrespect, but most people in here need to upgrade their skills. The outside software market is full of sharks and not kind to folks. If the amount of service needs to match the salary, it needs to be supported with higher education, a new certification every year, good performance , working on products that bring dollars, etc. I understand not everyone wants it for their personal reasons or if they have other side hustles that made them millionaires, but company has been targeting the low performance folks since a long time.

Out of the collective participants (21 minus the fake DEI and Randall troll), we average 19 years with the company and the average salary is $136,952.38. The majority of us are L2 managers, and given the usage of this site and it's participants, this is the target range for who AT&T looks to lay off.

Good luck and Godspeed to all in this range. The company IS targeting you.

nice to see some pay transparency, even if you have to go out of company lines to find out. Appreciate all that participated. If we can't affect how the company operates, at least we can find some satisfaction in exposing how unfair the pay scale is, for both men and women.
