Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What BUs are going to be impacted in Feb layoff?

Lots of rumors flying around. 5-7% layoff, now up to potentially 18-20k people. I am not sure what is true but it definitely is causing a lot of anxiety. Which BUs will be impacted? Meraki? AppD? EN? Are they going to hit sales or just auxiliary teams? The vibes are off in almost every department and it feels like no one is safe. Any more info?

Also, was that casual Cisco Beat invite that came through yesterday one of those "here's how the layoffs will work" type of invites? My stomach hurts.

FSO is a stupid bullsh-t term created by god knows who. Basically it's an abomination mix of appd, intersight, and thousand eyes. oh don't forget fso platform too. it's not revolutionary as they say lol. splunk platform is miles better than that pos.

I heard AppD, Outshift and FSO talking a double whammy now and later this yr due to acquisition announcements. Sh--e, that’s a rough one.

The LR will be a hair-cut (across the board reduction). It will have an effect on people at every level and in almost every area. Some will be impacted harder than others, and vise versa.

D-mb a-s changes happen every 6 months. Old leader gets kicked, new leader comes in, thinks they know better and make changes and rinse and repeat. I don't even care anymore.

You need to get some sleep, you’re 1500% correct. But leave Cisco alone, we don’t run this company. Let them make decisions and sink.

Cisco is a company does not like criticism, reason is they have things to hide: they only want to hire nepotism and tribalism.

I been to projects they only want to use old ways of doing things purposely slowing down efficiency on the expense of customers.

These Cisco leaders taking these ineffective ways to deliver to customers so they can take opportunities to train their family members for a job at Cisco.

Dnac team needs to go

En sellers need to go

Dnac is a monster… just a bunch of stuff put together thet takes ages to boot and requires a sh-t load of CPU and its own host to run…

Who created zoom?? Cisco did by not listening tothe zoom guy that used to work for Cisco

The worst part about Cisco are people who dont like taking risks and stifle new ideas, protect old buddies and hit those who are pushing for a better tomorrow…

I see all the time leaders being picked out of nowhere who have no experience and no game plan to push forward…

Come on Cisco get your finger out and lets rock!!

Some customers have DNAC installed but refused to put DNAC on their production network, they’re afraid DNAC will take down their network.

DNAC is a joke.

There’s no AI in Cisco.

AI in DNAC is a hype, no real customer is using DNAC on their production network.

DNAC has fake AI capabilities.

DNAC not being adopted is expected

In fact Cisco was trying to sell DNAC and delaying selling everything else such as cat9K. Now Cisco is not able to sell c-r-a-p.

Congratulations Cisco, good job.

In all fairness we should have shuttered WebEx quite some time ago. The only remaining hope for the Collab business is so shutter the dev budget for WebEx/WebEx Teams and reallocate it to cloud calling/cloud contact center and vendor agnostic devices fully integrated into other conferencing platforms.

@lee+1qRLFzDs Agreed! It’s like nobody on the Webex team has ever used a competing product. Or if they have their benchmark is Teams. Which is somehow worse than Webex.

If Webex could not gain a majority market share when the entire business world (except for Costco and Walmart) was forced to stay at home because of a bad flu - then it never will.

The worst part about all of this is that Collab has lots of neat products that will be impacted because of how bad Webex is.
Slido. Webex Events. Vidcast.
Sad to see these getting caught up in the Webex sla-ghter.
