Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Take Jeremy Legg's presentation as a warning: union up

One of Legg's claims from yesterday's presentation on Reclaiming Technical Talent is that the international employees are the same as everyone else. This is a lie. The cost of living in India is cheaper, which makes labor cheaper. That does not make us the same, and it's something Legg Moranis conveniently left out in his condescending speech.

Don't be the frog waiting for the pot to boil. If you want to protect your job, you have to act. Leadership won't help you. Biden won't help you. Trump won't help you. We have to work together and help each other.

Leadership is terrified of the U-word. They are terrified, because it works.

It's not about cheap labor. It's about American oligarchs realizing they can use H1b visa and third world country employees to get what they have always wanted. A system where they are above the second class citizens. If that's what you believe in, but the US keeps saying everyone has equity, of course you shift to a country with the caste system.

Indians are the same as Americans! Everyone knows that!

I’m Jeremy and I don’t have a Legg to stand on. I can’t stand people like him. Hoping he gets hit by the next “wave” that takes Stankey out.

Hopefully by now everyone impacted by a “wave” knows where that plan came from. These waves are only happening under him.

Why hire local talent when you can enslave immigrants by holding their work visas hostage?

Even the "lucky" H1B recipients worry about being sent back to their home countries if they get laid-off. But to declare that "this not off-shoring, these are OUR employees," is the HEIGHT of cow-chips. Does he/they really think we're THAT D-MB?!? LoL

That is really funny and true. The H1B workers with their homes in the U.S. making 60 cents on the dollar are now worried about being undercut by workers making 10 cents on the dollar.
The sound of Boeing triple 7's lifting off with their General Electric GE90 turbofan engines, repatriating those H1B workers to India is such sweet, sweet music.
Bye and Tank Q, for doing the needfull.

Maybe we will talk again when you call me from yet another scam center and ask me to but a gift card from Walmart and ask for the code. I don't know, I just know you will be gone.

Then why doesn’t Legg move there and become co located with his sub ordinates ?

Did you not hear him earlier??? He said he would be here when he is needed.....
The rules are for thee, not for the Stankey sycophants.

Once they realize how unmaintainable cheap India code is, and when systems start falling apart they’ll change course.
We’ve been here before with contractors and it didn’t work well.

I think they feel like they can make this pivot again due to ChatGPT, but it’s an assist not a replacement.

Give it a year or so, if you’re stuck at T, they will change course, like they always do, on literally everything.
