Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Team assessments due by July

The companies #1 priority - people. Team leaders are directed to complete assessments by July. Couple this with attacking cost and I suspect that is going to lay the groundwork for the next task. If its determined you don't fit into your team and you can't move elsewhere internally, you'll be terminated.

You know this is outstanding. Put even more pressure on the people that are left now that you have culled the herd. Yes having until July is I guess a reprieve. But the last thing I need to be concerned with is how all the tasks I have can impact things at a global level. I have too much to do, and this just isn't top of mind. We need people at the LL5 level looking at this as far as impact goes to the organization as a whole. That's bigger picture stuff. I don't get those bonuses and I don't sit in those meetings (nor do I care to). I need to do my work as efficiently as I can (stress on the "I"). I can't babysit the rest of the company and tell others how to do their jobs. Hire more agency if you have to..I don't really care at this point...just leave me alone and let me do my job.

I noticed this before the TH, in one of the "drafts" from my LL4. This could be good news, if enforced correctly.

Personally, this is a good breather for me. I was concerned with massive layoffs in the first quarter, even after the last TH of 2023, where the GSRs that contributed in savings to the company were "celebrated". Yes, there were some rumours about layoffs, but also some others saying the previous cuts were too deep.

Since I don't trust management, I was thinking the worst (massive layoffs as a way to reduce costs, especially after the new UAW deal). Now it seems we have until July 1st before the (miss)management starts laying off people. Not only this news appease my concerns (for a while), but give me more time to find another job.

@mqt@ - you're on the wrong site if you don't understand what the point of the comment is.

Yeah. That’s pretty logical. If you aren’t good, you should be told to leave. What’s your point?
