I was at Cisco once and drank the Koolaid. Was well-comped to start, but zero raises made me fall behind. Plus, layoffs are incessant. Never going back.

I worked for an acquisition and it was awesome for a while. Great leadership, product, team and customers. However with most stuff getting integrated into larger Cisco, it totally su-ks. Such a huge downgrade and I’m just exhausted now. So burnt out.

To learn how to dance the disco. That’s the only way to survive this farcical culture of musical chairs.
I works for the free foods in building 25 and because it easy to hide so work life is good balance.

My previous raises were pretty decent every year, but for 2023 it was absolutely horrible and insulting. Of course, my manager just kept saying I'm doing great but whatever.
For that paper, yaper, that Gouda. Nothing else.

What list are you viewing? The one where marketing and HR kick off (with the vendor) and survey those more likely to vote 5 stars?
Or are you using Glassdoor, where Cisco is #28 and any and all ratings come from everyone and anyone.
Salary, RSUs and some decent colleagues. It’s not perfect but you can do worse.
