Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

zScaler & Workplace One

Security has collected all of the metrics about how we show up to work and what we’re doing when we’re on the clock.

During the pandemic and beyond, programs like zScaler and Workplace One recorded your location, time in apps. Mouse clicks and keyboard strokes per minute, the websites you visited and duration spent with them. Your utilization of SAP, WMS, log ins and out of the computer network, badge swipes at turnstiles. If you have a corporate cell phone, they have all of this and more. All of your movements and “time spent working” is being captured….. and this is a good thing because it shows them who is earning their pay and who is grifting from Nike.

If layoff decisions are made that sacrifice the cornerstone of Nike’s daily workers, what you’re left with is an empty shell of a workforce devoid of competence, ability, and future growth.

@fhf+1qeO2SjD - "We are not doing any physical labor. We are professionals."

That's offensive to people that work with their hands or work with their bodies. Equating an office job with being a professional and implying that non-office jobs are not occupied by professional people, is offensive. There are plenty of artisans and other people who physically labor that you d-mb office clucks can't even hold a candle to. Get your head out of your a-s or your precious office job will get replaced by AI soon.

OP please stop making stuff up. None of these are true and you have zero evidence to back it up. My manager has to spend a lot of time in meetings and also walk around to discuss and check a lot of operational stuff with folks. We all know she is great in what she does but just because she is not at her laptop, you cannot say she is not doing anything. And she has been at Nike for 15 years. The fear of layoff is real but please stop creating bullsh-t fear and anxiety for people. What is your gain psychopath?

This is overboard fear mongering. These platforms have been around way before covid, one being divested actively, don't do what you think they do, and we are not setup to do all of this today and would need new solutions and full time jobs to start. The disparate data that exists is also not meaningfully aggregated and isn't the focus of the layoff strategy. As a concept has been discussed for RTO but unclear if or how that will pan out. Stop making fantasy sh-t up and posting it here.

And the hours we spend in meetings in the office? Am I one of the ones working or taking 4 extended coffee breaks or 2 hour workouts? Please.

More time spent at work is no way an indicator working hard for all jobs. We are not doing any physical labor. We are professionals.

Part of my work involves reading and researching. I have spent so many hours, doing that in my personal ipad because I like it that way. How can you say that I was not working?

I have worked from cafeterias so many times where you don’t have to swipe. How can you say that I wasn’t working?

Only after you enforce RTO, you can use something like this.
