To all of the smart, talented, and hard working employees -- make a resolution that you will keep this year. Get Out. Tell your boss/supervisor that if there is a RIF that you will offer to be on the list and get a severance package.

Others have said it in the past, use the time you can to get certificates and higher level degrees on their dime. I was able to parlay a new job when our office was closing simply because I was getting an MBA at the time. With all the online course and certificates available now, never even stepped into a classroom (which I abhor).
Check out Villanova for their online stuff. University of Maryland, Syracuse, Colorado State just to name a few do a lot online too.
Sounds good OP... post your routing and checking account number on here cuz you'll be paying my bills once I leave. 😒
PIP = LAWSUIT
As all the “smart, talented, and hard-working employees” heed your advice, I can’t leave you behind here all alone OP.
We’l ride it out to the bitter end together pal.
I know a few folks who were riffed recently in my area who could have easily been trained to do my newest job some would have been better candidates as is. RIFing me instead could have made sense for all involved.
They probably expect that I’m going to quit/“retire” this year anyways so instead of win/win/win they are happier with Win/lose/lose since maybe they can get a cheaper new person instead of training someone who was here for a few years.
I put the retire in “” since for a mgmt employee it has no meaning as I get no retiree benefits.
Only way I'm leaving is with an EIPP. Otherwise, I'll just keep showing up.
That not how layoffs work they will pip/fire people out the door. They finally realized paying people to leave is a waste of $$$$$. You are not owed a severance packpage. Please leave so I can keep climbing the food change and get a no show job.
Out the Door in '24.
I’m telling ny boss the second week of the year it is my new years resolution. Decided when I made my reply to the quitting this year post.
