From everything I've been hearing and reading, this whole thing will stretch out over several weeks with fragmented layoffs happening continuously. In my opinion, this will only serve to further ki-l morale which is already at an all-time low. With a single major round, we would at least know it's done right away.

@con this was funny the first time
it's drawn out over time shrouded in mystery because nike leadership is sadistic and where's the pleasure in letting people know asap when you can torture them long time
One quick zoom call?
That hasn't gone over so well in recent years...
Not enough HR heads to conduct quick layoffs
It's because Nike has gotten so large and geographically distributed that it's almost impossible to process that many separations in a single week. There are different state and non-US country labor laws that also require certain warning periods and work council approvals before a company can layoff employees. Historically Nike hasn't conducted large layoffs on a more regular/frequent basis so I'm sure there are inneffeciencies and a lack of of experience and talent to do the layoff quickly at scale. At this rate, however, Nike will probably get very good at layoffs and they'll go smoother and faster in the future.
There is no finish line
