Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

A coup is in the making

Oh man, AM and ML are going at it!

ML and her sidekick won't shut up about how AM's days are numbered, and they're making it sound like she's the next big boss, with the board backing her up.

It's a proper showdown, and everyone's picking sides. Grab the popcorn folks!

Yeah...

Once can't go around, acting superior on Day 1, and BRAG that oneself and ones boss, who is also Brand New, will be pushing out CEO and taking over.
It's kind of "Bad Form" or something of the sort.
So aggressive, and NOT in a ambitious road to success kind of way. It's just all around BaaaaaaaaaaD

What's the latest on this?
I believe her sidekick did leave. Does anyone have further details?

Honestly, there is zero need for a coup d'etat. Just severe ties and reset.

There is zero need for anyone to come and build their army. We've all lived this countless times from ex HP/Cisco/Verizon

  • and the worst part of ML is she is at least two of those.

It's ALWAYS the same story.

  • They came from being pushed out and rolled over from their previous roles. And Avaya is where they will "prove that they belong at the top".

Yet they are insecure and rather than PROVE merit with effective leadership, the emphasis is always on hiring friends (spies) to insulate and assemble.

There MUST be an out-clause to end this charade. There is NO POINT

Is it just me, or do you all find the role of CRO an unnecessary "C" title?

NEVER are CROs people who actually have the financial or academic acumen to be masters of "revenue strategy". They are ALWAYS sales leaders who feel it's now their "due" to be at the C-Suite. With that comes a LOT of ego.

It's a trend that really needs to stop. Have a COO with revenue expertise. And a Sales SVP. But I am SOOO over the inflated title of a CRO. It really is false representation.

OG poster is just passing info along. Don't shoot the messenger.

But it sounds like the "side kick" is the one who needs a lesson on the make up of the board. You are correct. AM has significant power alongside Apollo. And AM pulled a rabbit out of a hat for Apollo. AM isn't going anywhere, and there is no statistical possibility to rationalize that the board would back MJ. In no way, shape or form. Side kick does not sound very sophisticated to be mouthing off so early. If anyone has board endorsement, they would NOT be telling anyone who would listen. Sounds like a very bad hire.

ML biggest failure is how quickly she hired friends. Impossible to trust her and her skill set by that fact alone. She couldn't take time to understand the unique nature of Avaya. Embrace current talent. Nope. Just hire a chief bully who acts like they are taking over the world.
No different than the Verizon guys. Same. Exact. Playbook. How original!

Facts are facts.

Someone thinks it's funny to plant a BS made up story that doesn't align with any facts; known or logic streams based on known facts.

Try as they may, they can't discredit the truth that has been exposed via layoff.

"...with the board backing her"...

  • Does the Original Poster know the Board is AM + Apollo that controls everything. They have majority voting power. AND, it was AM that enabled Apollo to pull of the bankruptcy "loan to own" scheme. Therefore, Apollo isn't going to be shading AM anytime soon.

The ONLY reason Apollo may be frustrated is IF AM is collecting investors to pursue a buyout from Apollo.

Either way, no scenario gives ML some sort of absolute power or leverage over AM. In fact, if she is already clashing, she likely has her days numbered. Which is unlikely. So this post is beyond illogical.

Ha ha ha.
ZERO merit in this post.
Yes, I'd agree it is a "layoff.com is so not credible that I will prove that everyone believes anything"
Sorry. We've gotten more credible tips on here than anywhere else. And we have the street smarts to know how to interpret false vs credible.

Good day to you!

This is a planted post just making fun of the posts on this page.

This "claim" is as valid as Personal Brand & Batmans Marketing credentials.

For the record. ML is a serial sales leader with no corporate governance background or training. Avaya is literally a corporate governance exercise. No sales leader is going to be leading Avaya in any form or fashion. Check out Apollo owned companies and show us one in which the exec in charge is only experienced in sales?

Huh?! What's your source? What are the indicators? Speculation is just FUD without facts or valid indicators. I'm not gaslighting, just asking for where you're coming up with your claims.

Usually the turn around executive leaving makes a victory lap leaving the successor a loser. If AM is leaving it’s because Avaya is done.
