Tons of confidential info being discussed in the open. This place does not make sense. Also, I don’t care, I try to ignore, but it reduces my productivity.
It's crazy how much this company encourages blatant disregard for operational security. There's a thing called "business need to know" and throwing people from random groups in huge cube farms where they can easily listen to other people's conversations etc. is a huge and completely unnecessary risk. Speaker phone guy makes it worse, but even if you can only listen to half the conversation it's potentially a gold mine of information you may not have a business need to know.
I use my speaker all the time. Either way, you still have to hear the voice of the person answering the phone. If you can’t handle people having conversations around you at work: you’ve got a bigger problem. (PS I am not pro-RTO, but I can find many more issues to be angry about at work than how people answer their phones,)
I use my ipad to record concerts i go to.
People who do this are also the same low-class people who talk on speaker in grocery stores, and use phones and iPads in restaurants to entertain their.
Standard feature on the device.
Also please don’t brush your teeth in the kitchenette by the coffee machine.
100% agree, OP.
Then why do we have speakers?
I have a private office and take it on speaker.
Working in the office = all about control. The decreased productivity is still worth it in their eyes. Talk about arrogance.
The next evolution on the cube jungle....
Cramming 100s of people on phones / attempting to concentrate into seats inches away from each other... what could go wrong?
Too many feral people.
And they wonder why we're more productive at home.
there needs to be a rule w/ this new "Agile" office formation (what an absolute joke) for people who have to be on the phone all day long.
no speaker calls. keep your bloody voice to a normal level.
cant wait to see this office config blow up in their faces. smooth move, WF. smh
