Just heard from a reliable source that Verizon Business/HCL isn't going to renew any contracts past 30 months. They're instead going to hire off-shore employees "because they're cheaper".
This doesn't bode well for anyone that was re-badged earlier this year with the guaranteed 1-year employment extension. Contractors are the easiest to let go since there is no obligation after their initial contract is up, but there isn't any reason why they won't do the same for re-badged employees after their year is up -- if their only excuse really is because of labor costs.
