Yes Tesla , Apple , etc can enforce it and not lose talent / good people.
If Ford actually does it, good luck keeping the “best people” it has

People on here can rage all they want about RTO. The fact is, if that's what they want from you, you'll do it or leave. If you're any kind of prepared, you'd likely be better served to leave. That might be all they want from you anyway instead of firing you. Either way it's not your decision as an employee. Smart thing would be to give yourself options. The greatest power is always the power to walk away if you have to.
Although there is a participant in this forum who is rather vulgar in their posts about RTO being a must do, they are speaking the truth. Might I remind you that this stance is also aligned with leadership's (BF, DF) direction with this matter.
I just wish they would clean up their language as talking like that will not effectively convince the masses that RTO is our future.
The RTO “movement” is a creation of commercial real estate landlords, investors, their bankers and the greedy governments wanting more “revenue”.
Regional banks have invested heavily in office buildings and they’re sitting empty because of a technological revolution. The RTO movement hopes to delay this as long as they can. But economic force will eventually prevail.
Ford, GM are replacing the WFH group.
But if I have to return to office, my lease car won't be available for my side gigs. My kids will need something else for their Door Dash job.
Losing the "best" employees is not a concern. WFH employees are easy to get rid of and easy to replace with a LCC employee. If you think you have any leverage to resist RTO, why are you whining on Thelayoff?
RTO is clearly the wave of the future workforce. Companies want profitability and studies have shown conclusively that in-person collaboration of employees achieves this goal.
When you own your own company, you can implement the changes you think are best.
@ldo+1qzO9Txb I'd say it's more WFH doesn't work for mediocre employees. Good employees have no problem delivering regardless of work environment.
Wrong title:
RTO doesn’t work for mediocre employees.
Get your lazy attitude back in the office! Aw... Poor baby can't walk the dog or paint your kitchen while you pretend to work!
