So many titles at this company, how do I figure out someone's actual level?
Like what in the world is a "Technical Expert"?

@2wrm - I think the LL3s used be called PSR (Private Salary Role). GSR numbers used to go up to 14. LL6 had two levels GSR9 and GSR10. That's what I remember, but I could be wrong.
Do any of you remember the old days? (before Ford2000), the levels used to be called something else.
If you’re an LL, the workforce dashboard will show you someone’s grade (although it only shows GSR or LL level…I don’t think it lets you see if someone is a gsr 5/6/7/8)
There is also the Technical Maturity Leader (TML) which equates to ~LL6+
There is also the Technical Principal Maturity Mentor (TPMM) which equates to ~LL5+
There is also the Technical Experience Leadership Model (TELM) which equates to ~LL4+
The 1/2 step roles are somewhat rare and not all may be available depending on the commodity you are involved in, Also TELM requires LL2 recommendation where as TML and TPMM can be given by the LL3. IF you are assigned to these roles, typically you wouldn't have any direct reports but in rare instances you can have direct reports - also ,If you have direct reports, they cannot have any of the above titles - they would need to be part of the general GSR or standard LL levels. Also, depending on which role you would have, pay / benefits can vary widely. Most that get these roles would typically stay in for the remainder of their carrier. I've never heard of anyone transferring or switching roles once they have the TML, TPMM, TELM designation.
Senior Technical Leader = LL4
Technical Leader = LL5
Technical Specialist = LL6
Promotion into these grades required a technical interview and/or demonstrated technical excellence. But this was before the Ford Technical Specialist Program was watered down with Friends and Family promotions.
Anybody who claims to be a "Technical Expert" is not.
Anybody who has "Team Lead" in their Title is not.
The shade of brown on their nose will guide you, the darker brown the higher level.
Look someone up in super cds, keep clicking “reports to” until you get to a known LL3/2. Count down how many levels you had to click.
Everyone claimed to be expert at Ford. 😂
Go to LinkedIn and read the person's profile where they lie, lie and lie some more about their past and present Job Titles and especially their regularly high achievements, which they always exceed, in everything they do. Never mind the company they work for is in the dumpster or the product they support or both.
At my Company everyone in their LinkedIn profile states they are a high achieving middle manager or above or a Lead. Almost nobody at my company states in their LinkedIn profile they are a non-manager or non-Lead who performs the work to keep the company in business.
Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians.
I know some one who is technical expert, and also GSR 8. I also know a LL4 manager. After re-org, his title changed to technical expert. So, his level is LL4.
There is no direct relation between level and title. Unless you are VP, directors, etc.
Expert is GSR 8?
