Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What do we have to offer employees

No pension
Constant benefit cuts
Constant threat of layoffs
Filthy offices
Mold
Mildew
Asbestos
Lead
Even filthier bathrooms
Upper mgt that doesn’t give a cr-p about employees
Terrible raises
Terrible stock performance
Almost zero upward career mobility
Many layers of incompetence which generates unnecessary waste and stress

Now they say it is a culture thing that needs to be fixed….deal with the company warts and the ship will right itself.

Money. AT&T’s been paying re--rded lazy overweighters for many years. Most managers couldn’t walk down the street without panting for air. Thats the way it is.

"The older generations that have institutional knowledge and the golden handcuffs will be gone in the next few years. It’s why they are expediting decoms, software, hardware and process changes now, those that supported all the legacy systems will be gone. Even for those that become contractors it won’t be for long before they retire permanently. It’s the reason for open source systems, white boxes and off the shelf software products like Workday & INFOR. More to come, hold on!"

nah, they just want to save a ton of money on proprietary software fees. the ones left doing the decomms on old hardware will more than likely be the ones continuing the whitebox, open roadm, open ran, etc. builds since most have taken the time for skills upgrades. i dont really know who they would get to contract since the contractors are having a really hard time finding new installers to train to install the new open platforms now. they have put us behind schedule. i have no idea who they will hire in 10-12 years when most of us are gone.

Stanley has created this toxic culture. The C-suite ensures it was driven and enforced downwards and now the current culture that needs to be fixed is the employees' fault because we don't smile and say ' thank you sir, may we have more beatings'?

So laughable it makes you want to cry.

I'll put my achievable on this changing corps culture objective as 'voted CEO out' on upcoming shareholders meeting

And the C-Suite tells employees “we” need to work on the culture of the company!

That starts from the top starting with the C-Suite!

After leadership’s M&A debacles they have to trim, any and wherever possible to stay afloat. Once they get back to sustainability without cooking the books is when you will see a positive change. In order for the business to survive, they will have to be competitive in the marketplace, hire new talent and once again create a better work environment.

Salaries very high for minimal skill sets. It’s why there are so many lifers.

You do have the perk of being paid for full time work but working half.

But all those reason noted are worthy reasons to leave AT&T. Change won’t happen within the organization. You have to be the change you want.
