Extreme Networks Layed off a total of 250 people... Their overall plan to merge commercial into Enterprise will be an ultimate failure. Bringing back Enterasys failed leadership and putting a leader that has zero ability to lead sales for toys r us let a technology company in charge is a failure. Another example of bringing in your buddies instead of keeping the teams that got Extreme running the way it started in the first place.
What were they thinking about bringing in Mitel leadership to run Extreme, Head of Enterprise was trash, VP of sales was trash and another bad hire internally is trash... Jump ship while you can.....
+1 curious about the WARN period as well. Can anyone confirm please?
Heard from someone on US team that all the US layoffs are done on 4/2, started in morning itself. although not sure how correct is that info. some big names were let go. Leaders themselves claiming the next quarter looks bad and there is no sign of growth till june. Cisco's recent cuts also explain that they might really be losing business in the industry.
@Opuh+1r3zwb1Y not sure why minuses, it's facts. Like another fact, it's a very bad timing for layoffs just after Juniper got swallowed, makes Extreme look uncertain. Another fact is all those tech companies and stock companies are told by (((BlackRock))) et co. what to do and if you don't, you're done. So anyone who should be in power, is accepting things like a puppet.
Is the WARN period seriously not followed?
around 5% cut accross the board
This is a colossal failure of leadership and will serve as a key catalyst in the downfall of extreme. Ed has degenerated into the feeble village id--t. If you didn’t get let go yesterday, get out before it gets worse. And it will get worse.
There was no recent M&A at Extreme. Layoffs indeed have occurred but where they big? It will be explained officially soon. India jobs in Bangalore right now are just for software engineers. Layoffs caught some people across the US and EMEA who are not software developers at all.
Pretty disgraceful, but not surprising. M&A and then layoffs. When is the government going to step in and start to prevent these from happening?
Any news on what’s coming next? Are there going to be more layoffs?
They had to do layoffs so Ed and Nabil can bask in their collective incompetence and get their bonuses.
heard today from multiple teams that several people were laid off across engineering and sales teams in US. The situation looks bade
Wow ! @Gnbk+1r3zwb1Y
Very accurate assessment. 4/2 it is..
Hammer is coming soon, prob 4/2. Up to 25% from reliable sources. Great way to fund all the new marketing execs.
Waiting for the hammer to drop…no hr invites yet
Heard from a very strong source who’s at a high level. 10% average but sales and engineering will see 15% or maybe more in layoff. Effective right before Easter. The last week of March will be bad.
The jobs in India were opened due to the closure of the office in France. All those jobs moved but headcount neutral.
Did you guys check LinkedIn? Dozens of jobs opened in Bangalore.
Based on how badly the company is doing and how far sales is off, you can’t just reduce capital costs. This will require a reduction in force. Based on Cisco’s recent layoffs, and how we’re coming up on end of quarter, my money is on 5-10% reduction in the next several weeks (March or April) either shortly before or after the numbers are finalized.
