Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

It's official, manchester has lost the mixer business

That's it guys, you've messed up long enough. You're all out the door.
VPs over this week, announcement today . . . Many at risk, but its just the mixers that will be let go.

You never tried, now it's gone.

How much are we paying SIG? What has been the return on that investment?

NOV took a profitable business in derby to montrose to prop them up..that was a disaster for both units.. Then Manchester after nov pulled the oil field work .. Who have a facility too large..again a disaster for both pumps and Mixers. . Really pathetic and naive managed from Houston.. Jobs for the boys most who have little experience in managing pumps or Mixers.. Money bled on dragonfly and SIG.. Who holds houston to account? Good luck to all leaving and staying.. The culture is destroyed..

What is worse is that the incompetent managers who have brought the company to its knees will carry on as normal after the redundancies have happened.
Half the staff in the main office block sit there playing with jigsaws rather than doing their jobs too....and that's those who actually show up.
Weak, poor management.
Shiny has at least tried, but what sort of business would employ managers/supervisors like Gravel, Haddock, Gaffer in blue Jeans, Spooner, Di-ko, the M34 drinking gang etc?

No working from home until the redundancies are finalised.

Well we were told a few years ago that if NOV could, it would pull out of the UK entirely and to be honest what is left in the UK that actually makes NOV bottom line put it in the bank profit - not Adjusted Ebitda

Yes, the good people who are already out and have touched grass can comment on this as they have seen it all before, got out into the real world, not the world according to NOV and the people still left, like you!

Ton of comments from people who "are out" 🤔 what are you doing on here then lads.

Go touch grass.

If celebrating someone else's misery is what brings light into your life you should probably look into therapy.

The best employees will lose their jobs, while management will keep the bone idle, supervision walking around with a piece of paper abd pointing at absolute fresh air, just watch what useless people get to keep their jobs!....

What makes you think we will retain the good people, never happened previously, always seem to end up with the deadwood who always su-k up to management.

Have some respect. Colleagues of ours are losing their jobs. And some of the mixer work demands a lot more skill than pumps if you get chance to take a close look. Hopefully we’ll retain the best people.

This is all down to shiny, to busy walking around checking office heating controls, asking for info for his screen presentation, having no interest in mixers, having every excuse going for poor delivery's, but doing absolutely nothing but sabotaging the mixer business in manchester

It’s taken far too long to get to this point, should have happened 5 years ago at least.

If it wasn’t for that VP trying to make a name for himself and cutting a lot of good guys!

Still, let’s enjoy the working from home again
