Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

After 30+ lifetime LRs

I personally have seen double digits company wide redundancy programs due to M&A or bad quarterly results in my career. It’s never easy to be always be in the position of being scared for your livelihood or where the next pay check will come if one is let go. But here’s the thing I survived every single one of the LRs and am probably against the odds now. But I learned very early on , to survive tune to the mindset to the fact of there is nothing you can do, other than keeping calm and continue doing what you do best. If you are let go then roll up your sleeves and get ready to find any possible job to keep yourself busy. The job is only one aspect of your life and not your life. And if you haven’t been let go, come out of the bubble that your workplace is your family. When times get hard we don’t disassociate from family.

Generally people even before they notified start acting weirdly , start retaliating or abuse the business. Look at more than half the posts here, they are abusing cisco, it’s ELT and managers. Do you think they are not behaving like this in real life and making the same kind of comments in person to the other colleagues. Spreading negativity doesn’t work and believe me people notice this behaviour long before they are announced of their LRs. Eventually when it’s decision time, yes it’s about outing the highly paid employees but the individual spreading negativity quadruple their chances of going out first.
