Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

When would I know I’m safe?

Is there a deadline to be notified? If i haven’t been notified by end of today am i safe?

Managers are supposed to give the "all clear" signal to those remaining. The problem is, that like the last LR, they can restart the process again at any time and claim it's just part of the previous round (so, it was never "all clear").

This is Cisco; if you haven't heard by end of day today, you're safe... for today.

On the earnings call, they spaced out the 'cost' of severances over the summer until October. I imagine that notifications could come between now and then. Today seems like a wave went out from comments if they can be believed. Internally, I've heard of people in CX getting notifications.

Constructive reply… US and India, notifications should complete today is what I hear. My leaders did theirs v. early, so could share with those that are safe by 10am ET. Folk on PTO, etc., may be delayed.

Many other countries (I don’t have a list), also complete today - the 15th.

Some European countries take longer due to local laws… but that is a different topic.

Never in Cisco. Learn from what is happening. Its only a matter of time.

the mindset of safe is an illusion we conceive when we know this round will be followed by another when it’s needed, so make your own decision when it’s time to move one

For this round the last of the $800M restructuring costs are in FY25Q1 which unfortunately will roll into the next LR. So to the point of Sorry Charlie.....never.

You sad person. At Cisco you are never safe. So even if they tell you that you are safe, that means you are safe only for the next couple of months till it’s the next LR round. Look behind, open your eyes and realise what’s happening since October 2022. Then update your CV

For US based employees you should be notified today. I would hope your manager does it early.
