Cybersecurity Team- reasons for staying?

Hey out there- if you’re in the cyber spin off circus, I’m curious what your leaders are telling you is a good reason to stay and see this through.

I was psyched about this move until the HR calls. It’s clear to me that no effort was made to ensure the average employee was taken care of in the move to NewCo.

Have any of you heard of or been offered a substantive reason not to start looking around for other options NOW? Please share! I see only upside on what a competitive offer would look like. Am I wrong?

If you email the M&A inbox and tell Betsy that you're going to leave, you'll likely get a small cash incentive offer to stay. They can't afford to lose people before closing because they have defined an organizational perimeter boundary and it reduces the value if people leave, so they set aside a fund of money for retention. They can’t offer proactively, you have to ask for it or threaten to leave. Don’t go to your boss, just go to the HR email inbox. I heard they can do up to 20% of your salary if you’ll commit to stay for 45 days after the close.

Stick around because they will be announcing a 5-5-5 deal in the near future.

How did CWA let the Cyber business get away with not having any union members anyway?

T karma will be all over it, they have 40% stake in it. They will never be free of the Death Star. It will be an albatross around their neck for all eternity. Su-king morale, sabotaging their innovation. People will never let go of the T business mindset and this will hold them back.

If that’s the case, I’m wondering if they will offer us some nice retention bonuses to stick around. I’d love a big paycheck for helping keep things in good shape.

You’ll be kept for a year and then the jobs will be off shored. Just like all the tech dev folks.

My boss told me I should be excited about this because if we didn't get sold we would have to RTO like all the other su-kers at AT&T.

Our AVP put us on a call and said we should stay because they, for one, are “super excited” and we should be too. Also, they have always wanted to get out of AT&T because it basically su-ks here, they can’t get anything done despite years of trying. They have a long list of amazing things that they will finally be able to do once they get free of big bad AT&T. Oh, and Bob has big plans for this place. We will be 1B company someday. This was basically the only reason we were given that this is a good thing.

The whole time I was thinking, I’m sure they paid you to be excited. I’m. Not. feeling, it.

No one has given any reason to stay.
On top of that there in no incentive to stay.
Did you get any warm and fuzzy on that last call?
Yeah, me neither
