If Nike intends to survive and prosper, they may end up having an issue with workforce recruitment after this disastrous handling of layoffs. Who in their right mind would want to work here with so much stress hanging over them for months on end just over the layoffs?? This has been one of the most mismanaged layoffs I have ever witnessed or been part of.

Whether you stay or go, don’t settle for full-time in office work arrangements if you’re in tech. Study after study has proven that hybrid models and remote flexibility are better for workers, profits and the environment. The only way a full return to office happens is if workers cave to allow and enable it.
There are literally thousands of people ready to replace anyone at Nike. It’s one of the most sought after job sites in the country.
2020-2021 CDA.
July 2020 VP cuts/promotions.
Oct 2020 majority round of cuts.
March 2021 final cuts.
So that's 8 months in total to complete the process.
It’s awalys been this way. Leadership makes an announcement. Then takes 5-6 months to implement. And layoffs occur year round too; just not the large scale layoffs that include 300 - 400 all in a 24-48 hour span. Nothing new here. It’s always been poorly managed. And in a few years, nike will announce the next $500M round. Morale ki-ler. Stick booster. Except this time, the stock further collapsed. Wall Street didn’t blink an eye.
CDO took them 7 months depending what organization you were in. That was done in 3 waves, Tech, business, HR/Supporting Functions.
They don’t care. They literally have 10 people lined up to take one job they let go. Talent acquisition and retention is not a problem, talent attrition is because they have none.
Uh… this has happened like this every time before but usually a longer wait period. You must be new here. Good luck.
