Here is most of it:
Nike is always at its best when we are on the offense, listening to the voice of the athlete and aggressively pursuing our most significant growth opportunities. We win by serving sport and athletes with groundbreaking innovative products, distinctive storytelling and differentiated marketplace experiences. When we do that, we help to make athletes' dreams a reality.
But we are currently confronting another reality. While interest in sport, health, wellness and comfort has never been stronger, we are in a highly competitive industry where speed and end-to-end execution is critical to win. To compete, we must edit, shift and divest less critical work to create greater focus and capacity for what matters most.
And we are doing just that. Our Consumer x Marketplace focus is accelerating our innovation, bringing new products and ideas to consumers with speed and scale, and elevating our storytelling and brand in the marketplace. And we are redeploying our resources to increase investment in our most significant Fields of Play and growth opportunities, such as Running, Women's and the Jordan Brand. This is how we will reignite our growth.
To fuel this investment, over the coming months we will more sharply align our organization v our strategy and continue the journey we began last year.
Unfortunately, these changes will impact some of our teammates and result in a reduction of approximately 2% of our total workforce!
This is a painful reality and not one that I take lightly. We are not currently performing at our best, and I ultimately hold myself and my leadership team accountable. That said, I have never been more confident in our leadership and team to drive the clarity and teamwork required to win.
Given our size and scale, our organizational change will occur in two phases. The first phase starts this week, and teammates impacted by these changes can expect to have a conversation with their leader beginning this Friday and extending into next week. The second phase will be complete by the end of Q4.
EMEA will be on a different timeline based on local labor law.
We do not expect this work to impact Store Athletes, Coaches or Firstline teammates based in distribution centers and Air MI.
We have prioritized respect and compassion for teammates transitioning out of Nike and will be as supportive as possible. This will include a comprehensive package of financial, healthcare and outplacement support services for those teammates leaving.
I've always been humbled by the commitment and grit of our teams worldwide. Your inspiration, resilience, hard work and unity have been remarkable through some of the most challenging times over the past few years. All of our teammates impacted by these changes have made significant contributions to Nike, and we owe them great respect and gratitude...
If JD admits that he holds himself and his leadership team accountable for not performing at their best, why doesn’t he just lay off himself and his leadership team?
Dear Employees,
I love you.
Bla Bla
We will get rid of 2% of workforce starting friday.
Some are safe already, but not you MF.
I am accountable
You guys are awesome

JD
JD needs to “Hold himself accountable” by taking a paycut. His words don’t mean much.
Journalist should leak it. They have us on a leash.
At least this time he didn’t say “Sadly, some of our teammates will be leaving the playing field”.
ETWs didn't get the email apparently. Did it say anything about impact beyond FTEs or plans for next week (WFH or normal in office)?
Are you a journalist trying to leak the news first? :)
Wait for news outlet to share
Most corporate wide emails have some tools in there to determine who owns that “copy” so you’d be outing yourself here if you post it.
there was SO much blah blah blah. like 3-4 paragraphs of it before saying what everyone was dying to hear :-/
It said "blah blah blah." 2% of global workforce impacted starting Friday and continuing into next week. Second phase in Q4.
