Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Hiring is still going on along with layoff?

How is it possible that jobs are still getting posted recently amidst layoffs! So they are dumping existing employees and getting new people on board same time? What logic and cost cutting is this? Are they hiring at much lower salary?!! Can someone explain what’s going on? Where is the logic ?

It is not frozen. I know of 2 positions hired in the past 2 weeks and one just posted last week that is actively hiring.

Headcount is all frozen. The postings are up but nobody is hiring. Calm down. Pull yourselves back from the ledge. Take a breathe and use some common sense. The little I read on here, the more I feel like laying off all these people would be for the best. Less racism, less whiners, less people that can’t think critically.

$265k average loss when laying someone off.

Nike is making a financial mishap for the third time in 7 years…. Not to mention the cost of moral being in the gutter.

What about the posting for roles in product orgs that are about to go through layoffs?

Some of the roles are within orgs that already had layoffs and restructuring. Almost all tech positions are ghost jobs meant for ISCIS proceedings (someone’s already hired for the role, they are sponsored for H1B

It’s always like that. Dump experienced people with severance and hire new people who have no clue and relocate them. They pay more for less. But it’s new thinking! In the end they hire twice as many people to do the same work and wonder why costs are higher. Then the cycle repeats.

@1dk - agree , seeing it everywhere online mostly in WHQ! So they have money to hire again? What are they even doing? Wasting severance money for old employees and getting new and saying they are cost cutting?! Who is the advisor ? Out of mind thinking!

They are literally posting jobs that were just laid off in December. Same job, different org.
