Have all the qualified candidates been " smart redesigned" ? Will Promoting unqualified F&F or DEI into the newly created positions make things even worse?

It is difficult to understand just how privileged we are as white men in the USA. When you truly see the oppression that exists for minorities and women, it will really open your mind. I expect that at least 25% of our LLs will be minorities and 40% women in the coming years.

Unfortunately, I have seen the impact of DEI over the years. Yes, much more diversity! Yet quality has TOTALLY tanked. It's no coincidence. It doesn't matter if we're building cars or building applications, same problems. Furthermore, diversity only seems to be a problem when the majority is white. Look at Ford Credit. I'd guess 90% of Ford Credit is Indian. Is that a problem? Wake up folks!

I was part of Team Edison and am now part of Model E. I was one of the first 25 on the team, sat at the temporary building, then TFAC in Corktown until Fartly replaced Joe H and booted us to the mall, then PDC after quarantine.

Let me tell you - Team Edison was the most 'Old Ford' organization in the entire company. Mostly LL6s with no direct reports. Many LL5s who had been promoted years ago when it was a pat on the back to do so. More Leadership Development Program 'graduates' than you could imagine. A lot of them were cut during SRD.

And not one original idea among any LL6 or LL5 and the GSRs all followed suit. The consensus was to always align with the highest ranking person in the meeting or in the room. Nobody ever said anything that wasn't exactly what the top dog had already said. I watched an LL4, one that I actually respected, ask an LL5 and LL6 a question without first stating his own opinion. They could NOT give a direct answer. The LL4 actually made a joke about it.

Most people there competed to be 'liked' by leadership. And for better or worse, it worked for most of them. They have latched on and continue to ride it out on Model E. A small few were promoted and rose to the task. But most hang on by being yes-men/women and delivering small tasks full time.

This is terrible to say - but most of us had relatively little to do during quarantine. That is when it became obvious that most of these people were friends and family without a full day's workload on any given day.

I continue to play the game, but I no longer feel any type of job security or loyalty.

What about Team Edison that are the core of Model-E when they changed the name? They were supposedly a small cream of the crop team from ESE chosen to replicate startup mentality. Why hire these hasbins or never was from silicon valley? Is it because bunnyface did not want to relocate to the team in mi? So form another team there?

Most of my team in Model E are women or minorities. Each day during February we receive an email with a story about a minority leader or community member who made a historic impact. It is very educational and we all enjoy discussing at the end of our team meetings. I, as the only white man, feel privileged to be a part of this team. We have so much diverse experience.
