Return to office policy fueling resignations

Instead of balancing return to office, in a productive way, the policies are driving people to resign. I heard both Jeremy Kross and Vivian Tungs recent resignations, RTO was a factor-as well as the constant change. Our operations teams are a revolving door/constant change

I'm boycotting disney+ so I might as well return to the office.

I'm insulted by the Netflix insinuation. I also use Paramount+ and HBO MAX while at home.

For some folks it’s not about staying home and watching Netflix. It’s about the organization saving money by closing some locations and requiring people to go to further locations.

@1cew

Who has time to watch Netflix all day? All I’ve been doing for the last few years is constant meetings with overseas teams retraining on the same topic. I wish it was 10-15 years ago and I was responsible for my own staff, and hiring and firing, and went in 5 days. I can’t take this nonsense anymore. Not commuting everyday is the only thing helping me keep my sanity.

Mark my words - ROBIN DOES NOT CARE about the attrition. He wants it. All he cares about are his early career and intern folks. The people who are too young and naive to see through his BS or think his accent isn’t as annoying as it actually is. What he doesn’t understand is that if he doesn’t have any staff around that are in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s with experience - who are going to TEACH these wet behind the ears kids anything? Robin thinks any trained monkey can do this job. Maybe they can in some LOBs, but not all. It will reflect in customers walking out the door.

RTO is still a topic because our so called “workers” are averse to work.

This isn’t breaking news… it’s been blatantly obvious for 3 1/2 years and counting.

Why is RTO still a topic? Yes, it su-ks. Yes, they're enforcing it. Yes, if you don't come into the office, you're going to get let go. If you want to work for BNYM, you need to be in the office.

I’m putting my CV out there for sure. I can’t wait to leave this place. We are being treated like children. Some people deserve that, but many of us are professionals meeting our deliverables. Don’t treat me like a teenager punching a clock at McDonald’s. It’s not my fault you have managers who can’t manage their people.

RTO is the only thing to worry about. They’re coming with goals too they know people won’t meet. 1 hour of training each week must be met now too. Good luck with that when most barely completed the mandatory courses on time

Odd to me that somebody that supposedly is not worried about getting let go, claims that there are no layoffs , and doesn’t care if they have to go into the office five days a week spend so much time on this site day after day, posting the same debunked nonsense day after day

Perhaps you don’t mind going into the office unnecessarily because you have nothing else to do? No hobbies, no family wanna be with no friends? Very odd.

@ian - nope I’m still an employee. I just couldn’t care less whether they say go in once a week or 5 days a week. You must be one of the entitled millennials that don’t know anything about work ethic. Probably sitting at home watching Netflix all day.

@jtc
100%. Target #’s must be met. Forced rankings is another means to show cause. Anyone rated below meets for year end is on a no sub list and their days are numbered.

@s1j

You sound the most bent out of shape. You’re allowed to go in 5 days. So if that’s your choice have at it. I can tell you must no longer work at BNY. Pre Covid my team was a lot bigger. Now it’s just a few of us and most are in Pune. What’s the point of going in when everyone you talk to are overseas or other states?

RTO isn’t all they’re using to get rid of people. Wait until you see what goals HR is enforcing for 2024. Required 1 hour a week of training on top of all the other goals you have to meet. Plus your day to day

They want people to leave. They need to cut heads to cut costs. Resignations and firing employees for cause are cheaper than having to lay people off and provide sub pay.

Why are people so bent out of shape about going in to the office? You did it before covid - it was supposed to be wfh for 2 weeks. Would ya’ll still be bit$&ing about going back to the office if you were only home for 2 weeks? No. So get over it!!! I hope they take away all wfh so that way we are all there 5 days a week and everyone can move on. Either go in 5 days or leave! Frickin annoying cry babies
