no layoff yet but now using the system as set to clear the old and low performers , New plan everyone that's not performing is getting corrective action and 30 days to improve and nothing else. I am told it's company wide, I am on the optum side.

LHH employment services is of no help. There are many OPTUM positions available and no recruiting efforrts from them.
Is it these new goal plans being rolled out?
HR does not appear to be in the USA any longer. Each time I call, I get routed to the Philippines. This has been going on for a long time!!!

That's one vote for performance based firings and one for layoffs. As the one for layoffs comes from someone who says they work in HR I'll lean that way unless convinced otherwise.
It's not a "lay-off" plan; it's a "manage people out of the organization " plan.
It is not specific to any one department. It's way to clean a department of anyone not performing well or not playing well with others.
You would not receive a severance.

I plan to retire from Optum in the beginning of May but would much prefer to get laid off and collect severence. Is there any chance they will look for voluinteers like they did a few years back?
Do you know what positions/divisions will be affected by these layoffs coming in April and May?
There are definitely layoffs happening in April and May at Optum. I’m in HR
