Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

During layoffs

Do managers get laid off or do they go back to their toolbox? How do they decide which manager gets laid off? Will DEI be a factor? Nepotism?

It is interesting that very few managers ever get laid off. I've seen Directors have 3 direct reports and no other employees manage to keep their jobs for a year or so.

They morph into another underling elsewhere.

The stormtroopers always end up some other place doing about the same thing. Creating mayhem

About as hard rid managers as roaches. Not sure even Boeing bankruptcy would be enough. They likely would just spread to other corrupt companies.

Pretty soon managers will be cleaning our buildings because we have so many.

DEI is a huge factor. When it comes to layoffs. It’s almost always old white guys unless you have some kind of union protection which only applies to the mechanics.

You rarely ever see a female or a black person get laid off at Boeing regardless if they’re doing a good job or not.

Rarely. Worst case they get demoted to engineer or mechanic but keep their job. Or move to some other location as a manager.

But this is the reason Boeing has twice as many managers there as they actually need. Because they rarely lay them off
