Anyone else find the timing ridiculous? We’re supposed to enter our goals for this year by end of March only to potentially get laid off a week later? Why not postpone the goal setting until after the layoffs?

It follows country by country and the bonus payment schedule is linked to different areas depending if they are revenue generators or enablers.
for some countries where the bonus is paid yearly, they will receive a prorated bonus using a 100% achievement for the calculation.
I have never ended the year with the majority of my stated goals from the beginning of the year still being relevant. And development goals -- what a joke. As if I could ever take the time for training or development.
Pushing this post forward again. Made a pretty good business case why the US will face a crippling number of layoffs because it's one of the two largest regions for SAP and the other one will be untouched.
I agree with the points made on the post and see the US will be hurt pretty bad in this round of layoffs.
If you are in the US, chances are 1 out of 4 you won't be here after April. Best for these folks to find a way to postpone until next week and see if it matters anymore.
