Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

When The Days Go By

How can this be? How did I get here? A company I once was proud to be part of, has diminished and there is no hope. Fireside Chat - laughable. I am applying diligently to many outside jobs, looking to get out. I'm not in a financial state to just taking off some time to step away from the business to focus on me or my mental health. I am a slave to this scre*ed up job while my mental health is swiftly declining. How can someone remain enthusiastic in this climate?

The best thing to do is focus on finding a new position outside that dumpster. Make that your priority #1 and also choose a good employer that is GROWTH mode not death spiral. Everything else will fall into its place.

Good luck with your job search. The sooner you start looking, the sooner you will get out of there. It's easier to find a job while you are employed. Be proud of yourself for having the initiative to start looking, The people that think they are safe are in for a rude awakening. Remember EK across town?

Agree with the poster below. Stop the victim talk or the “whoa is me” attitude. There are some employees who got recently cut that were worth their weight that would love to be part of the company still. Not sure why they bypassed you. How about we do a trade and you quit tomorrow so we can bring back an employee worth it?

How can that possibly be? Did you improve your skillset every year? Did you get industry certifications? Did you invest in your ongoing education? Of course Xerox has been and continues to decline. Technology changes. Xerox is still a multibillion dollar company and one could still succeed if they chose to. But no one could be surprised or caught off guard by decline.
