Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Does anyone understand the 'future relocation' language on the latest Q&A?

It has sort of been addressed but it still seems very unclear what that actually means. Lots of people still interpreting it as a way for XOM to not pay severance.

If you have access to the plan document and have questions it may make sense to get a lawyer to review it. Exxon is going to do what’s in their best interest and interpret the plan accordingly (ask Denbury about this), so if you aren’t interested in going you may need to transition for an extended period (maybe a few months or maybe a few years) if you are deemed essential.

One of the reasons Exxon has had to do more external hiring (or what they deem “experienced hires”) is because they had heavy attrition during COVID. They’ve been outsourcing heavily to their business centers outside the U.S and I would expect that to continue. They are seeking multiple billions dollars of additional structural cost savings through the next few years. Exxon employees are worried where this is going to come from.

Large M&A deals are quite painful and will be even more painful when you’ve got such a mismatch of cultures. I know this is painful for all of you and I wish you and your families the best.

I'm very much considering to transitioning to getting the f*ck out. I know that's what they want, but money isn't worth falling into insanity
