Wells Fargo Overcharged Military Members, Suit Says

Wells Fargo was hit with a potential class action Wednesday alleging that the bank violated federal law and broke a program's promises by overcharging active duty military members in fees and interest while trying to hide the indiscretion.

Just wait until Shart's 'brilliant' plans for mortgage to focus on minorities blows up, and it will. Huge lawsuit that even an entry level mailroom guy could see coming.

We triggered this lawsuit ourselves by sending refunds to customers unsolicited when it was discovered we were overcharging in some instances. Our biggest issue was waiting until servicemen told us they were being deployed. By law we have to take active measures to discover that fact not just sit and wait. The government provides database access to do just that. Even if discovered months after their deployment the reductions are supposed to be reflected from the deployment date not discovery date. With our history of also repossessing service members cars we likely will settle this one quickly.
