Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Volunteering to be laid off

Anyone know if this is even an option?

Doing the work of others after they were let go plus your own work makes no sense. Especially since I never did their work before.

@whq+1rHBRNyM An even more solid and better option than this - stop stressing over it, do the amount of work you can do, make no excuses and force them to fire you instead and give you unemployment. Why willfully live with you can just stop giving a sh-t and keep getting a paycheck. Seems to be what most people do anyway.

@whq+1rHBRNyM Because if you accept more responsibility you will be working 2+ jobs on one salary. I did accept extra responsibilities many years back and I’m still at just one salary doing double work. How fair is this? It only stresses the person juggling multiple jobs but at what cost? Cost to your sanity and your health. They don’t care and if they did they wouldn’t be working us like donkeys.

Because if you get laid off, you get severance and are eligible for unemployment. If you just put in your two weeks, you get nothing.

Not sure why everyone is down voting the dude who said just put in your two week notice. He is right

I don't think that is a bad idea if you can either just retire or find another job especially if you are unhappy with the direction of the company.

It's certainly not going to get any better here. Just continue to expect more of the same.

No, U.S. Bank doesn't offer that. If they offered that they would be overwhelmed with volunteers and would have to find a way to cap it.

A Solid and Better Option:
Appreciate the opportunity, step up and accept the work. Good job security, keeps you productive and your day will be much more enjoyable and faster!
