Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Wealth Brokerage riff'd more associates than leadership

Dept of 11 with one manager, two supervisors and 8 associates.

They riffed 3 associates, sent 3 associates to Accenture and kept the manager and two supervisors to manage the remaining 2 associates kept with Truist.

Why does one dept need a manager and 2 supervisors to manage just 2 Truist associates and 3 Accenture contractors?

This sounds a$$ backwards?

That's right out of the BBT LDP Handbook (page 206) - "surround yourself with people to do your work and find quotes from Atlas Shrugged for you to impress the LT, but most importantly can be thrown under the bus as needed."
You'll always be a safe weasel as long as you have direct reports you can blame and RIF. Well, until you're sitting there in your cube all alone, with no more direct reports, and suddenly nowhere to hide. Hey JP - once again, please stop calling us at First Citizens - we don't want you!

If the associates were worth anything they would have left on their own

I don’t know why anybody would be surprised at management retention. Look around any area and see who remains in management of any area and check their background. It’s not hard to figure out.
