I was hired in 2016 as a remote employee. Pay was not great but I loved it because it was flexible and i don't mind taking weekend issues. We all know pay at the Bank is way below any other companies. Yearly performance always a 4 and rarely 3. Bonus is the low end of 3-4%. But never complain because I'm remote. With the RTO mandate, should I ask more pay? Or ignore rto until getting fire then find job somewhere else? Maybe starting looking

It would be absurd to ask for more money that has been made very clear by management when we were told to go back to the office three days a week. if you don’t like the salary move on and give the job to somebody who appreciates it
You’re not going to get paid more for RTO. Get promoted or look for a new job if you want more money.
The bank will never give you more money. Sharpen the resume and start looking.
And agree, terrible timing to ask for a bump, all banks and many companies doing layoffs. There is a lot of talent looking for jobs right now.
Been at another bank, the pay isn't honestly that different. And you'll find the same complaints at every bank, thinking they are underpaid. Just being honest. And with RTO, I think folks get it a bit backwards, we aren't paid less because we are wfh, so this whole time you might actually have been overpaid being at home. Best bet is to get pay visibility, ensure equity between those similar to you, and work for promotion. Or, ensure you negotiate well upon hire and know your worth.
A pay increase will not be given just to come into to the office. Your best bet is earn a promotion.
Chances of getting more pay when the bank is going through layoffs and welcoming people quitting are unlikely unfortunately.
