Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell's leadership is effective

We might not like it but look at the stock price. And sadly, that's the only thing that matters in the grand scheme of things.

Dell is red headed stepchild of NYSE.

So stock price is the only metric? Who is that going for Boeing?

"Don't get emotional and sell your stock when laid off."

LoL at suggesting dell is a growth stock.

Reality is the business will do just fine without me. Don't get emotional and sell your stock when laid off just because you want to wash away all the stain. Cost me about 15k to learn this.

@csz+1rINt5E7 :
GenAI making stocks go up is because- AI is quickly being used in many many companies as servers.
I left dell and now selling servers for AI markets. I assure you there is a LOT of market for it.
And every company is replacing few applicable white collar jobs with AI.

AI will replace some white collar jobs in coming decade. That means Dell's layoff will continue .So Stock going up is reasonable.

There’s no way the stock stays this high. Absurd P/E

Slashed long term prospects for a few short term gains. Padding their numbers with layoffs. They’re throwing people off the boat to hide the fact that it’s sinking.

The only reason the stock is up because they say the phrase generative AI for 70% of their earnings calls. When the shareholders realize that they can only go so far with generative AI because Dell is operated on legacy excel documents and reorgs, it’ll make the stock price drop like a rock.

"What's the deal with Dell pinching pennies, huh? I mean, you'd think with all those computers they sell, they'd have enough spare change for a decent cup of coffee! But no, it's like they're treating every expense like it's a high-stakes game of Monopoly. 'Sorry, can't afford Park Place this month, gotta save up for Boardwalk!' And don't even get me started on the office supplies – it's like they're rationing out paper clips like they're precious jewels. 'One paper clip per document, folks, let's not get too carried away!' Oh, Dell, always keeping us on our toes, searching under couch cushions for loose change just to buy toilet paper"

Looks like “leaders” are posting here now…

Stocks are at an enormous record high from layoffs and terminations as well as strategic market moves like parting ways from vmware

"What's with Dell's leadership, huh? I mean, you've got these executives up there in their corner offices, making decisions like they're playing a game of corporate Monopoly. 'Let's buy up some properties and hope for a passing 'Get out of jail free' card!' But instead of building hotels, they're building a reputation for being as effective as a broken keyboard. It's like they're running the company with all the finesse of a toddler with a sledgehammer. 'Oops, there goes another quarterly report!' It's a real-life sitcom up there, folks. Someone should tell them they're not the CEO of Comedy Central!"
