Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Customer Service-Part 2

Just got a email welcoming me to AT&T Protect Advantage. Seems they have doubled the phone insurance and I have been enrolled in the new insurance automatically. Called the number listed for some company called Assurion Support to find out what was going on. The representative said they were discontinuing the old plan and I was being enrolled in the new plan without my knowledge. You can call in and cancel insurance if you want or you can get a plan cheaper than the new one if your phone qualifies, which doesn’t include any higher priced phones. Spoke with Assurion. When she gave me this info I thought she was mistaken. Called into our billing department and was given the same
info. Bottom line, per their comments, the 8.99 insurance for each phone is going to

  1. 00 plus tax. If you don’t have a flagship phone you can get insurance for 15.00. Didn’t ask if this was just for retired folks. You might want to check your email. Mine shows to be dated at 7:14 pm.

@vkw+1rKk2rXi The email came AFTER they were enrolled so it's not. Same thing happened to me recently on a new line. I made the mistake of buying at an AR. Never again. I'm sticking to online ordering.

Phone insurance is a waste of money. Be an adult and don't break your phone.
