Is anyone else getting their ducks aligned to voluntarily lave once MIP vests 4/26?

So which one of y’all actually jumped ship?
Paid for a resume update optimized for ATS keywords. Applied to a couple dozen positions in the last few days. I am out at the first good chance. Been a good ride in many respects, but Medtronic is not the same company it used to be. I am ready to take my chances elsewhere.
In the past they have offered a voluntary RIF that let people raise their hands to take the severance package. Of course, they could tell you ‘nope, you’re critical to the business’ like they did for those operations folks last year for the voluntary early retirement offering.
Those two offerings are typically the ‘canary in the coal mine’ events which we haven’t seen this year, so, if I were a betting man, I’d wager that we’ll not see the widespread impact we saw last year.
I’ve seen no good arguments on this site that there will be a culling anyways, so if you’re not happy and have an offer for greener pastures, I hope you the best.
No job is worth you being unhappy.
It’s just unfortunate right now not many companies seem to be offering the roles/compensation we saw mid-covid era.
Perhaps ExComm is counting on this strategy and will push massive RIF into May to avoid severance. I recall in 2022 when GM kept talking about the importance of RTO. Now we don’t hear about it at all. ExComm didn’t really care about RTO. They were using it as a back door RIF. Anything to sc--w employees.
Should I bet on getting a severance package?
Every yearly RIF I play a quick game of Russian roulette, I do nothing , point the muzzle at head and pray my number does not come up this year ..... LOL I sleep like a baby every night :)
This is not an airport. No need to announce your departure
yep - seems the best thing to do.
Yup, no reason to stay. I'm counting the days down.
