Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

To those of us let go effective 4/15

I was told I need to work until 4/15. Are any of you actually working? Weird that they didn't yank our access when they told us we're being laid off.

They want us to do "handoffs." Yeah, ok.

Post ID: @gkjj+1rKvXaZk I seriously doubt the role you applied for and the recruiting delays are related to the 4/15 Non-working mass layoff ending period. The recruiter is probably just interviewing more candidates or has other roles to fill. However, You must disclose your husband works for Citi and the department he works in, in order to avoid conflicts of interest. Citi can Not hire you for the same dept or in a reporting line that's in his reporting line.

My husband works at Citi and is an SVP. I decided end of Feb to apply to an open req., and have had several interviews that went really well. The req however has since moved to no longer taking applications status, and the recruiter says there are "business discussions going on but she's hoping to get back to me" next week which would be around this 4/15 date. I'm wondering if I have the job but that Citi has to wait until this 4/15 date passes to extend an offer :| Citi is a wide ride!

Has anyone with 4/15 as last working day been contacted by HR?

It's pathetic how they still want us to enter our goals... lol. Planning my new life has taken priority over anything they think I need to do.

I'm fine with being on the books with no expectations of work. I'm fine to be on the books and pretend to 'handover' any work too.

Just make sure not to do anything malicious, like delete a bunch of docs, etc. if you get caught, you can be prosecuted.

They want you to quit. The new layoff strategy, same happened at other bank. Months in advance - "you won't have a job"

Saves them money and bad PR. They really think they are being nice to you. It is all about looking good
