If the unions are smart, they will be willing to work without a contract for a few months

I see a weather system moving into CA.
Hopefully another comes in when we walk away.

Ready to work in the rain and snow contingency force?

If the unions are smart, they will be willing to work without a contract for a few months and then strike after the Follow the Work dates are executed and many of the management that were expected to show up will no longer be available.

The Union employees aren’t seeking to do harm to the company or our customers that support employment and benefits for so many families. We are just bargaining for a fair contract without having to accept regressive company proposals that will cause reductions in our standard of living, benefits and job security. That’s it, is that too much to ask? A reasonable wage increase with COLA that’s capped, better retirement match, a few tweaks on work rules and job security. In a year that management bonus rate number was 122% and the company went beyond the FCF financial guidance.

Instead of a long drawn out bargaining process, a work stoppage brings expediency to negotiations. The company labor team will have so much pressure to bargain in good faith and reach a settlement quickly. Otherwise, inflation continues to erode workers standard of living as cost of goods continue to rise while the company slow walks wage increases. United we thrive, divided we beg.

Ask your fellow non bargained coworkers who are being relocated, forced into “collaboration” zones, monitored and are having monthly layoffs about how the toxicity and uncertainty has changed their perception of the company? Policies are constantly changing, reorgs, benefit reductions, changing metrics, AI, offshoring, contracting and increased scope of work is happening at unprecedented levels for those who survive the Stankey campaign of layoffs and age discrimination. High levels of mental stress and anxiety are the norm where a lot of employees are just waiting for the tap on the shoulder to reach the sweet relief of life beyond the train wreck.

Is the d-mbest thing I’ve read so far. Either accept the terms of the new deal or walk. Otherwise you lose all the leverage you have.

Why would we walk right away if we can cause the company to pay our wages and the contingency force wages?

Might have to walk out for a little bit. The engaged CP force may need to "run" the shop while we are out. Best thing is we always make our money back in overtime after the strike is over.
Allow me to repeat for those that are a little slow or dense. We always make our money back in overtime after the strike is over. Two weeks out on strike, well two weeks later with double time removes the sting of that.

Then there's 1 ex officer that somehow got to the District 9 meeting at convention to be elected to the bargaining committee. Interesting since "guests" at convention are only allowed to attend general meetings. The local he was an officer is in receivership, his actions or lack of in his years as an officer were part of the reason the local is now a sh-t show. I have no faith in CWA's leadership including this elected bargaining committee. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!

Gotta stick up for the ex P from San Diego
That train that moved the service reps to Tustin was coming for 10 years
When they came for the Comm Techs, no one cared.
All those NOC jobs from SD and Sac went to Big D and the GA
That was previous administrations
But he did get an NTEC job, while everyone he worked with has the big commute to the OC

Hold out and work under the old contract as long as you can. T can easily afford the things you are bargaining for.

There is not too much to bargain with, Workers won't get a better deal anywhere else. Compensation is much better than Burger King.

What do you expect? You have the worst people bargaining. You have our president from Sacramento who only knows right from left, and the san diego 9509 president who allowed at&t to steam roll 500 service reps.
