Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Even Disney has a challenge

I have no clue what is happening with NOV. Even Disney’s CEO is being challenged. He convinced the board and managed to survive. NOV’s board seems like a rubber stamp for the CEO. Oh wait, the CEO is also the Chairman of the Board. No challenge at all. It’s really a depressing state of affairs when the stock is so bad. At the earnings call, none of the analyst seems to challenge the CFO or CEO.

How many levels of VPs do we really need? What about the CMO who posts nothing for our businesses just his little charity he flies around the country for on the company dime. I saw we were sending him to Boston the other day for his little socialite party. How do we write that off as a business expense? Meanwhile, we keep giving our floor guys and gals an embarrassing 3% every other year and they’re the ones who actually keep our money coming in.

The ship is too top heavy. How many hold a VP and President titles vs actual workforce. Layoff and do more with less. Offer a promotion with the idea to sleep in your office to get the job done. The entire company is poor business structure honestly.
