Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell used to make me feel valued as an employee

Not only do I not feel that way anymore, I feel like I'm being disrespected constantly as somebody who doesn't matter at all. It's like the company underwent a complete change in priorities and decided that employees are no longer one of its most valuable assets but instead an expense that is nothing but a burden. If that isn't fu---d up, I don't know what is.

Former EMCer- EMC had issues too but I did feel like I was part of a team and felt respected. That vanished pretty soon after being acquired by Dell. You were just an employee and if you could be replaced by someone cheaper then so be it. Lost so many good people only to be replaced by remotes from overseas or told to ‘use a partner’. Had partners sc--w us on deals only to have Dell look the other way. Glad I’m out

The private years were the good times.
I’ve never seen it as bad as it is now. Top talent all fled as soon as the pandemic ended and the people left are some of the d-mbest most useless people I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. The d-mber you are, the more likely you are to become a manager these days and if you su-k at your manager job they punish you with a promotion. I used to have amazing inspiring leaders and they’ve all been replaced by brainless LinkedIn high five mouth breathers who don’t know how to do anything. But they protect their own so you can’t get rid of them.

the feeling of not being valued and talents not being recognized is impacting many corporations across this country not just dell. It is the d-mbing down by outlook managers who became coaches before that when they had the desired 'packaging' of their org- many couldn't handle a quota or the daily sales duties but they had the look and drank the kool-aid. Again is not just a dell problem but going on everywhere.

Started at Dell in 2000 - this isn't a new feeling. I was gone during the private years. Maybe things were better then?

The Kevin Rollins era was way more brutal than the Jeff Clarke era has been so far

its a job just a job

realize they don't care about you..

THEY USE abuse USE and sp-t you out....

I recommend do nothing and enjoy your time.

Even if your are the hardest worker it doesn't matter the uppers have family to keep on payroll.

Your just a number waiting to get the AXED so Dell stock can increase which is most likely around the time stock options become available to sell.

than the loop will start over.
