Stellantis Human Resources Notice - Proposal for Expedited Voluntary Separation Plan (VSP) Implementation for White-Collar Workers
Dear Stellantis HR Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to propose a plan aimed at facilitating the departure of 50 white-collar workers through a streamlined Voluntary Separation Plan (VSP) process.
In my capacity of closely interfacing with the engineering workforce on a day-to-day basis, it has become evident that a significant portion of our colleagues are eager to depart. Both functionally and in practice, many are disengaged and prepared to transition out of the company. The erosion of trust in leadership poses a significant barrier to retention efforts, complicating the prospect of rebuilding morale and commitment.
Given our strategic imperative to consolidate engineering operations by relocating them to lower-cost jurisdictions, it is imperative to enhance the attractiveness and efficiency of our VSP offering. To this end, I propose the following plan:
Provide engineers with a severance package equivalent to one month's pay and continued healthcare coverage for each year of service, capped at 18 months.
I anticipate that a considerable portion of our engineering workforce will find this offer compelling, with the potential for up to 50% participation. This approach not only avoids the need for involuntary layoffs but also expedites our objectives without incurring negative publicity or reputational damage.
Furthermore, as American engineers, we possess world-class talent and are confident in our ability to contribute meaningfully to other organizations within the automotive sector. By embracing transparency and decisiveness in our approach, we can mutually benefit Stellantis and our American engineering cohort.
Thank you for considering this proposal.
