Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Trucks

Anybody else getting an ungodly amount of freight? My club is literally packed to the brim in all steel on the floor, in all of freezer/cooler over 20 pallets on the floors plus steel completely full. 20 pallets per night. Can't forget to mention no freezer staff! Hehehhe

buyer's gotta buy extra to get that money handed to them under the table from the vendors. vendors get their big bonus for selling so much, kick some of it to the sam's buyer for buying what the clubs don't need. they're all happy with fat accounts. club associates can't execute the basics because they have to fight freight. nobody dares ask why clubs are overloaded with freight. rinse and repeat.

Same here in Michigan .. they send so much stuff we don’t need. MM paper towel and toilet paper is out of control ! Home office has no concept of what we sell anymore .. they just buy and buy and if we don’t sell it , it goes to the liquidator . Not very smart ! We get the same stuff every year , it is no wonder people flock to Costco .. our backroom is packed as well as the steel . Merchandiser hardly have time anymore to stock cause they are getting pulled to club pickup or fresh, so we don’t work as many pallets ! I have worked for Sam’s over 25 years and have never seen such mis management as I have in the last 5 years

The buyers seem to have no concept of the steel space that we have. In the meantime the DC's just keep coming, 2-3/night!! Mostly filled with cr-p that we don't need!!! Our club is out of room for everything, it's a joke.

How about the eggs. Got about 10 pallets of the 12 dozen boxes in the past 2 days. Last week, prior to Easter we didn’t have any. I guess nobody taught the buyer to look at the planning calendar to see that Easter last year was on the 20th!
