Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

FAANG is truly dead

Even Apple is now having major layoffs. Amazon, Google, Meta, and Netflix have been having them for over a year. The giants have fallen.

More layoffs to come, especially Ads, Stores, and AWS. AI/ML replacing many workers. Amazon will continue to do layoffs for the foreseeable future - at least for the next few years until Jassy and certain S-Team staff retire. They chose to artificially boost their free cash flow and stock price through forced retrenchment and many other dirty financial tricks (instead of innovating). They also scrapped their immigration program for foreigner workers in the US for the last couple of years (and counting), effectively deporting them back to their home countries. And froze corporate wages. A great way to say "thank you"! And Jassy could care less - he vested $211 million in 2021, $31.9 million in 2022, and is expected to vest $18.9 million in 2023. How's that for a raise?
