Yes this is the case I’ve been commuting for about six months and my space is not even constructed yet so I just sit and conference space or the lunchroom! I just do rules, rule kind of person.

@1uud+1rVRwkw This has been answered numerous times on this board. Having a medical accommodation means gives you no exception or protection from location strategy, that is spelled out right on the accommodation approval letters.

What about folks with a legit medical exception who are not in a hub location?

The rules are going to vary some by LOB maybe even within LOB. I’ve usually heard just get your corpus in a locus 3x and how you live is your thing.

Another angle, haven’t tried. When you change your address in Dorkday, what are you attesting to? You can see where I’m going with this angle.

It’s “field rep” and those are going away. If you are remote, with rare exception, your days are numbered. If you are remote within a hub or specialty market, you will have to go into an office at some point if you haven’t already. If you are outside of the 40 miles but want to commute to a hub office, you can but they will make you sign a “significant change in job duties” or some type of form like that. If you end up not going in for whatever reason, you will be terminated (as if you had abandoned your job). I am a director in CL and have had experience with all of these scenarios. Ultimately, it’s all an attrition play, it’s that simple.

There is a position called "Field Agent", who can work from home 100% permanently. These people are exceptions. I know many associates in my department who have that title, especially in Florida. They are mostly VP or above.

@mce has it right. If you are more than 40 miles from a hub and are willing to commute, then there is an exception process for that - it requires approval of OC+1. In my group there are several who have opted into that.

You forfeit your right to relo or location-strategy based severance if you choose to do that. (severance for plain old position eliminations is still on the table for everyone)

It's horse S that the company thinks they can dictate where you live. Where you work, sure, but so long as you are at work when expected it's none of their Fing business where you live. Absolutely none.

I am surprised by some of these posts. I have heard it you are outside of the 40 mile radius and you want to commute to a hub you will be able too but you will not get a dime to make the commute and you forego severance if you get sick of making that commute after a while:

They are not even letting those who are REMOTE in Workday choose to have longer commute and go to hub. Three of my remote colleagues were told they cannot do that. Either relocate within 40 mile commute or be laid off.

This "location strategy" was never about locations. It's all about attrition. Period.

If your name is Chuckie and you make $25 million then sure. CEO can be 3,000 miles away from WF headquarters. Do as I say, not as I do

If you are commuting to an office you should be ok. Otherwise, no.
