Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Retirement vs Quitting

Citi retirement healthcare is way to expensive, government healthcare marketplace is the best deal that I can find.

I have a 401k since I started Citi after pensions ended.

I've read the Citi retirement guide completely and have one question.

Given no Citi healthcare or pension, what are the real advantages of retirement vs quitting?

Thanks

You get a whole years time off if you quit after 1st quarter. Also, you get to leave like a professional, wrapping up projects. You might even get a party!

I mean retiring is quitting. It’s just quitting with no intention of looking for another job.

I think the only benefit of retiring is maybe you get more unused vacation days, but not sure.

Health care / medical coverage is where citi lags a lot. Working as consultant in Citi is far better than being an employee. I think no one understands how to treat employee. As everyone is from vendor or consultant background
