Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Why trash talk UAW now?

I don’t get why Farley chose to trash talk the UAW now. I guess he wants investors to think Ford will cut costs by moving some production to lower cost places, but does he think there won’t be repercussions from the UAW? Does he have a strategy, or did he just say sc--w it?

@1dho+1raiGHsb yeah isn't it weird that the execs complain of all these problems After they let so many experienced people go (since the Hackett era). "who could have predicted this! It's so confusing! The world is changing!" haha... marketing guys think that engineering is just some cost to be cut. not that marketing guys are bad. marketing is needed. but it isn't the only thing. they forget about that when they climb the ladder.

Now, it is not every day the CEO is caught with his pants down; he needs to prove he still has the reigns. The UAW did what they had to do to regain what they lost. Our factories can only make what the engineers design. It is a shame our CEO decided to eliminate all our untrainable engineers who could have easily been trained to move from ICE to EVs or something in between. Now we have our junior class coming up who are making the same mistakes as our untrainable engineers did 30-35 years ago. If only those same untrainable engineers were still around to share the knowledge.

Ford Motor has been moving jobs out of the USA for sometime design, engineering, testing, manufacturing...

Ford fires employee's then hires replacements at a lower rate later down the road.......Ford wants cheap labor! Wake up.

Another example where farleys mouth ran faster than his birdbrain could think.

The best one is where he went on a podcast last year and proclaimed Toyota would be bankrupt soon since they focused on hybrids and not evs

Not sure what benefit there was to Farley spouting off. Any knowledgeable intelligent person already knew what he said. He just needlessly pi---d off people including Fain who then had to have a rebuttal. Makes you really question his leadership skills.

Ford salary here and in solidarity with UAW. UAW did not sit back and let ford dictate lower wages, benefits and work conditions like they do for salary. They risked their take home pay on strike to secure increases iaw the law. Salary wake up...Ford management will not freely provide increase in salary and benefits. Examples: what input have you had in the criteria of the merit bonus vs the old profit share formula? Reduction in health benefit to higher out of pocket deductibles. Pay raises that do not keep up with inflation with no data provided supporting that it is competitive with the industry. Elimination of retiree health care. Elimination of pensions for new hires over 20 years ago. Change to open floor plan and hotelling. RTO to facilities that do not have monitor and docking stations. Moving salary jobs to LLC. Method to set objectives, PR and OS churn yearly. Others please add more that you are aware of. Criticize ford management and not UAW.

I don't like Farley but I would not consider it trash talk. The UAW won the battle but not the war they started. The UAW got more than they deserved thru extortion and now they figure they can keep extoting plant by plant. If anyone is trash talking it is Shawn Fain. The chickens are comming home to roost. Enjoy what future you have left...
