Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Decided to leave

I get that the job market is not good, but I just can’t stand this place anymore. I have been working my a-s off, and yet I can be laid off anytime next week, or next month, or anytime this year. My work ethics will have nothing to do with the decision to let me go or keep me here. Why would I continue enduring this kind of stress and dealing with insane workload?

@1kxz+1razvXgQ ICG was already dissolved. All IT across the company is now a part of O&T.

I'm done a lot of things here too. It's not the job that I was sold a few years ago when I stated. They want a robot and yes person. That's not me. SO I will work this stupid grind, save money and if I get laid off so be it. I wouldn't move without something else due to my family and such. Doesn't mean I'm not keeping my eye out.

I waited them out over two years until they finally laid me off. I don’t regret a damn thing about quiet quitting.

Grass isn’t always greener. Layoffs are happening everywhere.

The stress Citi is inflicting on some of their employees is cruel. No open reps to replace those left behind due to layoffs/attrition. My management is not taking the opportunity to remove non-value workload for those who remain. Do more with less mentality is toxic. Zero transformation in my area as leaders fight for their survival. I am fortunate to leave on my own free will. 8 days and counting. Sorry for those choosing to remain on my team.

Stay the course people, this is their tactic to not pay severance and unemployment

If you have decided to leave without another position lined up you are a fool. You will be ineligible to qualify for any social assistance, and cannot cite a RIF during an interview as a justifiable reason for being unemployed . Everyone is stressed with a high cap workload, some of us are just mentally stronger and more logical than others. Enjoy your time off 👌

Just change your perspective, coast at work and collect a paycheck while you job hunt. Free money given your current perspective with nothing to loose from your account. Perhaps you'll even find a new job, get a paycheck in the meantime with the bonus of a severance. Come on, beat them at their own game!

No point in working hard when the messages are clear. you won’t get a single penny extra for stressing yourself.

Right. Severance is not the only thing in life. I am also leaving for sure. Just searching rigorously.

This is exactly what they are wanting so that they don’t have to pay out severance.
